Graduate Accountant Position

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and conscientious professional to join our finance team as a Graduate Accountant. As a key member of our team, you will provide administration and reporting support to Accountants and Finance Business Partners within the Aged Care Services portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or final-year student in Commerce/Accounting to expand and apply their technical knowledge while developing and growing their skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering accurate month-end journals and reconciliations within agreed timeframes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regular, timely, and reliable management reports, offering insights into the portfolio's financial performance.
  • Investigate variances against budget, providing analysis of results within agreed timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner and Accountant to provide high-level support, analysis, and advice to portfolio leaders, aiding in financial decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity, process quality, and a controlled environment across relevant systems, meeting external compliance deadlines and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • A degree or working towards a degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with using an accounting software is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Previous internships or part-time positions in accounting or finance are preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
