Job Title: Category Leadership Role

The category leadership role is a pivotal position that drives commercial success by overseeing a specific category within the company's portfolio. This individual will be responsible for developing long-term growth plans and managing daily operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing category strategies aligned with business objectives, backed by market and competitor analysis
  • Conducting market research and analysing customer behaviour to stay competitive and identify growth opportunities
  • Optimizing the product range by managing the lifecycle, introducing new products, and collaborating with suppliers to align with customer demand
  • Setting pricing strategies, managing margins, and coordinating with marketing teams to drive promotions and engagement
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring consistent product supply and alignment with strategic goals
  • Regularly tracking and reporting category performance, providing insights to guide strategy and ensure financial targets are met

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with proven experience in category management or procurement roles. They should also demonstrate success in expanding product categories, particularly in fast-paced, growth-driven industries.

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing category strategies, including pricing, promotions, and lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, with excellent negotiation skills and contract management experience
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, using data analysis and forecasting to make informed, market-driven decisions
