About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to older people and individuals with disabilities in their homes, residential settings, clinics, and hospitals.

You will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, transport, and budgeting. You will also provide companionship and emotional support, promoting independence and community participation when possible.

A typical day may involve supporting clients with domestic activities, cooking and serving meals, cleaning premises, washing, ironing, and performing other household tasks. You will also assist with self-medication and provide companionship during daily activities.

Requirements

We are looking for a patient, flexible, and understanding individual with a supportive and caring nature. Ideal experience within the aged, disability, or healthcare sectors is desirable. Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives is essential.

Candidates should possess good communication skills, be able to accept responsibility, and work effectively as part of a team. A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is desirable but not essential. A valid driver's license with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle is also desirable.
