About the RoleWe are seeking a Health Safety Business Partner to join our team at Bapcor's Tullamarine Distribution Centre.
The successful candidate will provide proactive advice and support to our business, ensuring alignment with our Group approach to meeting obligations and maturing our culture of safety and wellbeing.
This is a hands-on role that offers an opportunity to own the space and make a difference, with a focus on strategic and tactical initiatives that uplift capability and drive best practice in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Role model and promote a culture of safety maturity through effective risk management and consultation.
- Conduct site visits to coach, consult, and conduct risk assessments, hazard inspections, and reporting.
- Provide advice and coaching to people leaders on safe work practices, legislative compliance, and safety culture maturity.
- Investigate and lead on complex matters, champion initiatives to mature culture, and contribute to the development of HSW programs.
- Support the Injury Management Advisor to implement early intervention, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
- Coach team members and people leaders to report incidents, hazards, and near misses and provide assistance in identifying robust actions.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Cert IV at a minimum) in Human Resources.
- Significant experience in a HSW role, focused on maturing capability.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, return-to-work programs, and best practice.
- Experience in supporting change across diverse multi-site and business environments.
- Highly developed consultation and negotiation skills.
- Sound customer focus, relationship management, and influencing skills.
- A collaborative approach and effective communication skills.
