Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Track Work Supervisor to join our team at Lark Hill. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of track work activities, while also enforcing the Rules of Racing and regulations applicable to track work and trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce Rules and Regulations at track work and trials, and take appropriate action when necessary
  • Collect and analyze data relating to track use by Trainers
  • Process track fees and ensure accurate accounting
  • Provide guidance and instruction to trainers and jockeys on track rules and regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the track to ensure safety and compliance
  • Brief new track riders on track safety and rules
  • Report any safety issues or breaches of the Rules of Racing to the Track Manager or RWWA Stewards
  • Coordinate fast work and jump outs on trial days
  • Assist with first aid and incident response as needed

About You:

  • Proven experience in horse handling and track work operations
  • Knowledge of horse gear and equipment, as well as the Rules of Racing
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic computer literacy skills and ability to use software applications
  • Current 'C' class driver's licence and Senior First Aid Certificate
