Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cost Controller to join our team at Brunel, a leading global organization in the Energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
Main Responsibilities
- Utilize project cost control systems, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate budget tracking and forecasting.
- Manage project cost and progress reporting, providing timely and accurate information to the Project Management Team.
- Collaborate with the Planning Team to ensure alignment and coordination of cost aspects.
- Define and apply project work breakdown structures to ensure consistency in project systems and reporting.
- Support contracting and procurement teams with project contracts, purchase orders, and payment certificates review.
- Submit project month-end VOWD and accruals, allocating expenses to cost centers and WBSs.
- Forecast cost to complete and identify areas of risk to mitigate cost overruns.
- Provide monthly reporting and variance analysis.
- Ensure the project change management process is utilized effectively.
- Support quarterly capital planning processes.
- Apply earned value management (EVM) tools and techniques to measure project performance.
- Evaluate contractor progress payment claims and reconcile with budgets and contracts.
- Monitor and audit cost management systems and SAP to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Engineering.
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the Resources and Renewable Energy sector and complex Construction and Engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of project control processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in project cost control systems, finance systems, and reporting applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with project and corporate stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Omega PIMS cost system and MS Excel.
