We are seeking Casual Support Workers to provide respite for carers by taking planned outings with young people. These shifts will take place in the afternoon or on weekends, and may also involve working in our Residential Care homes.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of Central Queenslanders. They will be able to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, identify and embed solutions, and work within a high-performance framework where they are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes.

Job Description:
  • Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
  • Support young people in maintaining connections with family, culture, country, and community.
  • Support young people to develop safety, health, and wellbeing measures.
  • Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
  • Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
  • Engage therapeutically with young people.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent.
  • 1 year relevant experience working with young people in out of home care or similar field.
