Job Opportunity for Strategic Leader

We are seeking a senior leader to manage our Libraries and Arts portfolios.

This role provides strategic leadership and direction to our five library branches and the Arts team.

About the Role

  • Provide evidence-based advice and direction to Council for the planning and management of the library network
  • Lead the development and delivery of strategies and services that promote learning and cultural engagement for all life stages and across all cultural groups in Maribyrnong
  • Maintain strong relationships across libraries and with community arts networks in Maribyrnong
  • Provide advice on visual arts, performing arts, and public art programs in Maribyrnong
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in library development, including digital materials, contemporary ICT, and library management systems

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arts, Library, or a relevant discipline, with demonstrated successful experience in a senior leadership role
  • Extensive experience in providing Libraries, Arts, Culture, and Community Learning services that deliver high-quality innovative services, facilities, events, and programs
  • Demonstrated experience and track record of developing and leading high-performing teams that reflect the organisation's values
