The Senior Estimator is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for ensuring cost transparency and driving value for money across complex infrastructure projects.

As a Senior Estimator, you will lead first-principles reviews of contractor estimates, validate methodology and risk against client requirements, and negotiate cost adjustments. You will also work closely with internal teams, client stakeholders, and delivery partners to confirm value assurance outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost drivers, as well as proficiency with estimating software and associated tools. They will have excellent analytical skills, effective communication and collaboration abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple estimates and deadlines efficiently.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as construction management or quantity surveying, and solid experience as an Estimator in infrastructure or construction. Familiarity with risk management and value-for-money principles, as well as eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance, is highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading first-principles reviews of contractor "open-book" cost estimates.
  • Validating methodology, risk & opportunity, and schedule against client requirements.
  • Negotiating cost adjustments and providing recommendations for contractor awards.
  • Working closely with internal teams, client stakeholders, and delivery partners to confirm value assurance outcomes.
  • Managing workloads and ensuring efficient progression of estimates from submission through to approval.
