About this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team in Brisbane.

You will be responsible for developing strongly-typed, self-documenting Python code and libraries using your expertise in multiple interpreted and compiled programming languages.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of DevSecOps, MLOps, and DataOps release pipelines, as well as experience working with SCRUM and agile teams.

NB: The role requires you to have 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with proven experience developing enterprise solutions involving multiple development teams.

You will also need to have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent IT work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate excellent judgement skills at interpreting business requirements, estimating workloads, prioritizing tasks, and managing time in the delivery of quality solutions to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to project management, keeping stakeholders up to date, developing delivery plans, obtaining design authority approvals, and keeping records up to date.
  • Communicate well and respectfully through all written and verbal interactions.
  • Provide technical guidance, and be a role model to Developers, Scientists, and other Engineers.
  • Develop highly performant, efficiently administered, cost considerate, well tested, and fully secure Python libraries and data pipeline solutions built on Apache Spark.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with proven experience developing enterprise solutions involving multiple development teams.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent IT work experience.
  • Experience working with SCRUM and agile teams.
  • Experience working with project management and developing delivery plans.
  • Proven skills programming with Python and other C-style languages.
  • Proven skills with object-oriented programming, design patterns, unit testing, and debugging.
  • Proven ability to research, learn quickly, and apply abstract concepts into real-world solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and release management.
