Senior Accountant Position at AGL Energy

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Group Reporting and Advisory team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience in complex accounting matters, such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives, and legal entity accounting. You will have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of seniority.

About the Role
  • Support the sustainability reporting team in assessing, planning, and implementing controls and processes to ensure AGL's compliance with existing and emerging ESG reporting requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on complex accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Maintain and apply AGL's portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves.
Requirements
  • Extensive technical accounting experience and a high level of understanding of consolidation accounting.
  • Experience in complex accounting matters, such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with consulting experience (Big 4 desirable).
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SAP desirable).
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills and the ability to keep stakeholders engaged and informed.
