Location plays a crucial role in shaping the daily work routine of an Auto Mechanical Heavy Vehicle Technician.

We are currently seeking a skilled professional with extensive experience in locomotive maintenance and diagnostics to join our team at Hedland Operations, located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine servicing and mechanical repairs on our fleet of locomotives, utilizing modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults, and ensuring every job meets the highest safety and quality standards.

In exchange for their hard work and dedication, the chosen individual will enjoy a FIFO roster from Perth, with a lifestyle-friendly 4D/4N – 8 OFF schedule that allows for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing and mechanical repairs on locomotives, adhering to strict safety protocols and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to quickly identify and resolve complex issues related to locomotive engines, mechanics, and systems.
  • Work closely with the team to achieve efficient, on-time outcomes and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements
  • Trade qualification in automotive or mechanical engineering, preferably with specialization in heavy vehicle technology.

  • Hands-on knowledge of locomotive engines, diagnostics, and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on problem-solving and attention to detail.
