The Role

This exciting opportunity supports councillors, staff and the community in developing and delivering a clear vision for a vibrant and sustainable Shellharbour region.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Drive local economic development through strategic leadership.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Shellharbour region, its people and its future.
  • Ensure sound financial management practices.
  • Develop and deliver Council's strategic plans, policies and governance frameworks.

About You

As an accomplished leader, you will have a proven track record of guiding organisations through periods of change. Building cultures that inspire both yourself and your team is essential.

You will require highly developed communication and advocacy skills, as well as the ability to establish effective partnerships with diverse stakeholder groups.

Familiarity with relevant legislation in the Local Government context is preferred, along with knowledge and understanding of the changing social, political and economic issues affecting local government.
