Location: Metropolitan Remand & Reception Centre, Silverwater

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

The Correctional Centre Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of education and employment plans for offenders.

This role involves coordinating the delivery of education services and programs within a correctional centre by the external education service provider to achieve the highest levels of program delivery in accordance with departmental policy, procedures and standards.

The successful candidate will work autonomously with a diverse range of people in a custodial setting, supported by a statewide Education team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A current driver licence and willingness to drive as required by role
  • Administration qualifications desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in office administration skills in people management, negotiation and conflict management
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to interact and motivate inmates
  • Willingness to undertake training in industry-specific computer-based programs
