About the Role

At People First Bank, we are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Data and Insights department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions that drive business growth and inform strategic decision-making.

We are looking for a skilled professional with expertise in data engineering, architecture, and analytics. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines, warehouses, and systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization tools. You will be able to communicate complex technical concepts effectively and collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, career development opportunities, and access to cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with business departments to evaluate and determine data needs and requirements.
  • Apply technical and analytical skills to solutions to improve reporting, advanced analytics, and data insights.
  • Maintain effective commercial relationships with external service providers to deliver optimal data management and reporting outcomes.
  • Handle day-to-day operations of existing on-prem and cloud data warehouses.
  • Engineer & model curated data warehouse solutions to support BI objectives and timeframes.
  • Partner with technical teams to build maturity and capability in relation to implementing data capture, ETL, validation, and test methods.
About You

You are an expert in crafting, implementing, and sustaining resilient data processing pipelines. Your role is pivotal in guaranteeing the effectiveness, precision, and scalability of our data infrastructure, impacting not only the Data and Insights team but also extending across the entire organization.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in SQL with the ability to understand and write advanced SQL.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages including Python and SAS in a source-controlled environment using command-line tools like Git.
  • ETL tools (Wherescape is helpful but not essential).
  • Data visualization and BI tools (Qlik preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality results under pressure.
  • Ability to respond to rapidly changing requirements.
  • High energy self-starter.
