Promotion and Engagement Officer

The Promotion and Engagement Officer - Student Accommodation plays a key role in the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience (PVCESE) team, Wellbeing Pillar, Accommodation Theme, UNSW Accommodation Operational Team. This role involves coordinating the development of promotional and community outreach communications and implementation of activities and events, projects and initiatives specific to the UNSW Colleges and Accommodation residents.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate and support the delivery and promotion of Accommodation outreach programs, projects, events, activities, and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with portfolio teams, relevant faculty and division staff, PVCESE teams, UNSW Future Students, and external stakeholders such as agents, secondary schools, and scholarship organizations.
- Coordinate workshops, seminars, training, forums, meetings, events, and manage follow-ups and project status reporting.
- Work with stakeholders to update UNSW Accommodation sites and other web content. Prepare and disseminate promotional communications and materials, including emails, flyers, reports, e-news, web, and social media content.
- Collaborate with the Head of Colleges and Manager Operations (Accommodation) on program, project, and initiative plans and schedules. Manage program and event management systems, including invitations, registrations, post-event administration, and project evaluation and reporting.
- Support adherence to UNSW governance pathways to ensure consistent project management. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of policies, procedures, guidelines, and training materials related to programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in event/project/program management, including managing logistics, promotions, communications, budgeting, documentation, and reporting.
- Advanced communication skills, including demonstrated experience in content writing and editing (official communications, reports, promotional and web content), proofreading, and the ability to research and analyze material and summarize key issues.
- Demonstrated experience in video content creation, using mobile. You will be supported by the marketing and social media team to put content together, so you don't need prior experience in producing or editing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage your time effectively, respond to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet competing deadlines by using judgment and initiative.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases and understanding of or previous experience in website maintenance. Familiarity with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and/or InDesign strongly desirable.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours, with some flexibility to start a little earlier or a little later in the day. We occasionally have some key events happening outside of those hours (open days, etc.) that we'll also need you to attend. Whilst there is some flexibility to work from home occasionally, most of the work must be done on campus.
