Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the maintenance and operation of our hydrocarbon reticulation system and SIB projects utility section.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the safe and effective delivery of allocated projects and operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and support teams to ensure the highest possible safety standards are maintained in the area of operation.
  • Conduct quality inspections across the utilities value chain to ensure accurate and high-quality delivery of utilities to end-users.
  • Identify, initiate, and implement quality improvement projects to enhance operational efficiencies and equipment reliability.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Recognized Trade Test Certificate in Fitting and/or Millwright.
  • At least 5 years' mining utilities maintenance experience on Water, Fuels, Lubricants, compressed air, etc. reticulation systems and distribution.
  • Declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test.

Competencies:

  • Proven track record in safety leadership.
  • Proven interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Proven team leadership, planning, and organization skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of and relevant maintenance experience on various Mining Utilities systems.
  • Excellent fault-finding ability and ability to read and understand technical drawings.
