Job Opportunity: Young Adult Navigator

As a Young Adult Navigator, you will be working with individuals aged 18-24 who experience housing instability and/or homelessness. Your role will be to provide individualized support to help them meet their immediate needs and identify safe and appropriate housing.

This position requires collaboration with local agencies and community organizations to chart a rapid pathway out of shelter and into permanent housing. You will assist participants in determining program eligibility, enrolling in programs, and coordinating housing with Public Housing Authorities and private landlords.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized client-driven support to young adults experiencing housing instability and/or homelessness
  • Collaborate with local agencies and community organizations to identify and secure safe and appropriate housing
  • Assist participants in determining program eligibility and enrolling in programs
  • Coordinate housing with Public Housing Authorities and private landlords
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree with specialization in social, behavioral, or human services, as well as at least one year of professionally supervised work in mental health, chemical dependency, and/or social services.

You will also need lived experience of homelessness and/or housing instability, as well as embodiment of the diverse identities of young adults who experience homelessness in Cuyahoga County.
