We are seeking experienced and compassionate support workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in providing individualized care and support to adults and young people with complex needs, including autism and mental health conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with personal care needs, such as meal preparation and hygiene
  • Providing access to social, community, and recreational activities
  • Accompanying participants on outings, such as fishing or hiking
  • Transportation training for participants to access social and recreational activities
  • Offering emotional and social support to participants and young people
  • Creating a safe environment and delivering quality care to vulnerable adults and young people/children

The successful applicant must have the flexibility to work on weekdays, morning or afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required. A reliable vehicle is necessary due to travel involved between clients and on shifts.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A current Blue and Yellow Card
  • A valid driver's license with a reliable, road-worthy vehicle
  • Current first aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with clients with challenging behaviors and complex care needs (Mental Health and Autism)
  • Confidence and professionalism when providing client-focused support
  • Strong professional boundaries and the ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to work with a small team
  • Portability of a smart device (e.g., phone)

This is a casual position with competitive rates based on level and qualification according to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS). Experience not necessary, but having other valuable skills to bring to the table will be highly valued.
