About the Role
The Department of Education, Western Australia, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the position of Principal at Wandina Primary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive school culture that promotes collaboration, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the implementation of evidence-based teaching and learning programs, collaborating with the leadership team to ensure teachers are supported in creating learning environments that cater to diverse student needs, and leveraging innovation and creativity to establish systems and structures fostering academic development.
The Principal will also be responsible for building strategic networks with other schools, local agencies, and services in the community to benefit school programs, and for promoting the school's values and mission. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator and will have excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
About Wandina Primary School
The school serves 476 students and their families within a caring and inclusive environment. The school is committed to the Midwest Targeted Teaching Program based on evidence-based practice and has developed extensive programs to support all students, including those with complex needs and disabilities.
The Principal will be expected to lead the school in its commitment to cultural responsiveness and will have a strong understanding of leading a culturally responsive school, valuing the local Aboriginal community.
Requirements
- A commitment to continuous school improvement and the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices.
- Proven experience in leading the implementation of evidence-based teaching and learning programs.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills, with the ability to build strategic networks with other schools, local agencies, and services in the community.
- A commitment to cultural responsiveness and the ability to lead the school in its commitment to valuing the local Aboriginal community.
