This role plays a vital part in supporting student retention and academic success, while also promoting positive health experiences across the university community.
The Counsellor is a qualified mental health professional who provides inclusive, high-quality counselling services to support students in achieving their personal and academic goals.
- Conducting advanced psychosocial assessments and delivering targeted interventions for students and their families
- Contributing to the design and implementation of mental health initiatives aligned with our strategic direction
About You
To be suitable for this opportunity you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Strong background in mental health care, including assessments, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapies
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- High-level triage, organisational, and communication skills
- Experience with diverse populations and electronic records
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, or related field with minimum 4 years' experience
- Full registration with a relevant governing body
