Strategic Communications Manager

Darebin City Council is a forward-thinking local government organisation, passionate about social inclusion, sustainability, engagement and service excellence. We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Manager to join our team.
Job Description- We are looking for a skilled professional with a strong background in corporate communications and strategic public relations to support divisions across the organisation.
- Develop effective strategies and communications plans to inform and educate the community about Council programs, events, policies and initiatives.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of key external and internal communications, including digital, social media, newsletters, publications, print material and internal communications.
- Provide strategic communication advice to internal clients, ensuring that all communications are aligned with Council's narrative and strategic communications frameworks.
- Manage a diverse range of stakeholder requests and time-manage and prioritise concurrent work across multiple groups with differing needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communication channels and executions, using findings to optimise strategies and enhance future campaigns for greater impact.
- A tertiary qualification in communications, digital communications, public relations, journalism, marketing (or related discipline) and/or relevant experience in the corporate communications environment.
- Minimum five years of experience in the area of corporate communications and strategic public relations.
- Experience in communications, including digital, media, issues management and strategies.
- Ability to negotiate, develop and influence others towards common organisational outcomes.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills, especially in the field of public relations and media relations.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to a team.
The estimated salary for this role is $95,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
