Job Title: General Manager CommunityAbout the Role

The General Manager Community will lead a community-centred approach to service provision and community development, fostering active participation in community life and strong community engagement.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a community-centred approach to service provision and community development.
  • Foster active participation in community life and strong community engagement.
  • Support delivery of the Council Plan through high quality service delivery, projects and programs.
  • Provide strategic direction and inspirational leadership.
  • Ensure effective engagement across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of professionals in the Aged & Disability, Creative Culture, Community Services & Development, and Recreation & Libraries portfolios.
About the Team

The General Manager Community will be part of the Executive Leadership Team and will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive the organisation's vision and strategy.

Requirements
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills.
  • Politically astute with a contemporary and strategic leadership style.
  • Proven track record leading and empowering a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience within the public sector or an aligned community service-focused organisation.
  • Ability to hold positive, robust conversations with elected members and the community.
