About Our Team Member:

This is a pivotal role within our Parks & Landscapes division, responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of Council's irrigation systems across parks, streetscapes, and sportsgrounds.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain complex pressurised and central control irrigation systems to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Regularly inspect and audit these systems to identify areas for improvement and undertake reactive repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate setup and management of flow systems and watering schedules, taking into account seasonal requirements and recycled water constraints.
  • Provide training and support to team members in best practices related to irrigation.
  • Maintain turf surfaces to a safe standard and provide regular updates on turf health.
  • Monitor water meters and soil moisture levels to optimize system performance.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and residents to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture and adhere to all relevant WHS and Council procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Irrigation Technology or Horticulture
  • MR Driver's Licence
  • Proven experience in commercial irrigation maintenance
  • Proficiency in central irrigation software systems
  • Able to interpret irrigation plans and troubleshoot faults efficiently
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Backhoe competency and relevant plant operation licences
  • ChemCert accreditation (transport and application)
  • White Card, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Work Zone Traffic Management
