This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum programs that meet the diverse needs of all students.
Responsibilities:The role of classroom teacher involves:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum programs that align with state-wide priorities
- Engaging students in critical thinking and problem-solving activities that promote deep learning
- Using data to inform teaching approaches and drive improvements in student learning outcomes
- Providing expert advice on content, processes and strategies to support staff development
- Supervising and mentoring student teachers to ensure they are well-prepared for the demands of teaching
The following selection criteria will be used to assess applications:
- Demonstrated expertise in literacy and numeracy instruction
- Proven experience in designing and delivering high-impact teaching strategies
- Ability to critically reflect on practice and engage in ongoing professional development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to departmental values and policies
Applicants must be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the relevant curriculum area(s).
