Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Multicultural Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in Logan Central QLD. As a key member of our community engagement initiatives, you will work under the Community Relations Manager to deliver critical programs and provide leadership support within the team.
This role involves implementing the Community Action for Multicultural Society (CAMS) contract in designated areas, as well as Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) Community Capacity Building (CCB) activities across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, and Moreton South. You will also mentor team members, contribute to report writing, and serve as a lead figure in the community development team.
Key Responsibilities:- Implementing CAMS contracts in designated regions;
- Liaising with community groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships;
- Providing leadership and guidance to team members to ensure successful project outcomes;
- Contributing to the development and implementation of community engagement strategies;
- Mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- A minimum of five years' experience in community development or a related field;
- Demonstrated expertise in working with marginalized communities and understanding settlement issues relevant to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
- Highly developed project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously;
- Knowledge of multicultural policies and programs, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a community development context.
