About the Disability Plan Role

Government agencies are responsible for enhancing life, accessibility, and equity for individuals and families across Australia. We currently have a temporary assignment opportunity for a Disability Planner.

About the Position

The selected candidate will contribute to planning initiatives and projects by delivering core services. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing participant records using policies, legislation, and guidance to make informed funding decisions and optimize resource allocation.
  2. Communicating with participants and their representatives via phone calls to gather information about circumstances and spending patterns.
  3. Maintaining high-quality records while demonstrating proficiency in IT systems and adhering to established processes.
  4. Conducting research and reviewing decisions, managing moderately complex cases with higher-level staff support.
  5. Completing administrative and data entry tasks related to participants.
  6. Contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators and planning targets.
About the Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  1. Experience in similar roles such as Planner, Support Coordinator, or Local Area Coordinator.
  2. A background in disability or public sector work is highly regarded.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  4. Ability to handle difficult conversations.
  5. Proficiency in IT and data analysis.
  6. Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
Benefits
  • Casual 12-month temporary assignment.
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
  • $43.82 per hour + superannuation.
  • Multiple locations available: Parramatta, Wollongong.
  • Applicants must hold Australian Citizenship and be willing to complete a federal police check.
