Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Engineer Technician to join our team.

This role involves maintaining a professional and organized work area, including tools, valves, tubes, and manifolds for advanced subassemblies.

  • Verify fluids and electrical connections using diagrams for propulsion systems.
  • Perform testing and operate equipment for pressurized checkouts, using computer networks and following test procedures.
  • Accept or reject test units based on criteria, document findings, and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for staging, building, testing, installing, and proofing of production subassemblies for Starship/Super-Heavy propulsion systems.

Additionally, the position requires following procedures, specifications, and test instructions accurately.

Set up and operate CNC bending machines and tube cutting equipment, conforming to tight tolerances.

Requirements and Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Possession of A&P license or ASE Master certification is highly desirable.
  • More than 5 years of mechanical or related experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fluid systems, pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices; mechanical and electrical systems; propulsion systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical, computer, decision-making, and communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for at least 8 hours.
  • Capability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
