We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Organiser to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who shares our passion for improving workers' lives and achieving the goals of the union.
Job Description:
The Lead Organiser will play a key role in developing, managing, and leading organising activities nationally across all MEAA industries as directed. This includes developing and implementing operational organising plans in line with MEAA's industry strategies and campaigns, promoting organising practices, policies, strategies, and systems that contribute to the union's goals, and coordinating and managing the work of the national team of organisers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage operational organising plans in line with MEAA's industry strategies and campaigns.
- Implement and promote organising practices, policies, strategies, and systems that contribute to the union's goals.
- Assist in the coordination and management of the work of the national team of organisers.
- Assist in campaign development, reviews, and innovation.
- Develop the union's organising capability and support the development of Organisers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A passion and drive to improve workers' lives and achieve the goals of the Union.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and educate union members and potential members.
- Ability to participate in the union's political and social justice agenda.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience as a lead organiser preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work flexible arrangements.
- Leadership development, including motivating and educating others.
- Excellent communication, messaging, and rapport-building skills.
- Experience in leading a team.
- Experience in organising strategy development, planning, and reporting.
- Ability to communicate and advocate to all political parties.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Australia to assist with relevant Lead duties.
