The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Community Program Leader to join our team in leading the design and implementation of grant programs that support communities impacted by natural disasters.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in grants management policy at Commonwealth, state or local government level, as well as design and delivery of programs and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement effective grant programs to support communities affected by natural disasters.
  • Establish and maintain program governance frameworks to ensure risk management, monitoring and reporting processes are in place.
  • Support the delivery of a grant assessment process and provide secretariat and program support to an assessment panel.
  • Develop strategic communications and briefings to support executive stakeholders through ministerial submissions and correspondence.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a background in public policy analysis, program management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are also essential for driving evidence-based policy solutions.

Apart from technical skills, the successful candidate must be able to work independently, identify priorities and manage risks to deliver high-quality outputs. Excellent communication and presentation skills are also required, along with experience developing staff and leading a team in a complex operational environment.
