We're seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to join our team at the Melbourne Fresh Distribution Centre. As a key member of our Transport Management team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of goods to our customers.
About the Role
- Liaise with VIC Transport Teams, 3PL's and DC Operations teams to monitor progress and status of loads, schedules and strategies.
- Oversee the allocation of loads to meet store requirements and ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
- Update the Transport Management team on a real-time basis of any operational / service concerns or non-compliance.
- Actively seek out and implement cost saving or efficiency improvement initiatives within the Vic transport operating model.
- Liaise with appropriate personnel to achieve adherence to curfews, cross-docking and top uploads.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in transportation operations positions in a multi-site business in FMCG / Supply Chain / Distribution environment.
- Ability to navigate in a large complex environment and communicate effectively and with influence with 3PL carriers & operational teams.
- A good understanding of the Chain of responsibility.
- Ability to work autonomously in a team environment.
- Have intermediate computer skills - Google, Excel, Word.
- TMS advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong customer Service focus & problem-solving abilities.
