The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Denmark and Mount Barker. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting seniors and NDIS customers to remain in their homes, providing tailored person-centered services and activities that cater to their unique needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide domestic assistance services to customers, including household chores, meal preparation, and personal care.
- Work collaboratively with customers, their families, carers, community agencies, and other professionals to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, built on trust, empathy, and effective communication.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify customers' needs and preferences, and develop personalized plans to meet those needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as aged care, disability support, and mental health.
- Certificate III Individual Support - Aged Care or Disability, or other relevant qualification.
- Experience working with seniors, people on the mental health recovery journey, and those living with disability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer-centered care.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence with no restrictions, and a reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle for travel to customers' homes.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one prior to commencing employment).
- Current First Aid Certificate with 12 months or less currency (or willingness to apply).
