Job Title: Software Configuration Management Specialist

This position is responsible for advising on the requirements and options to build and administer a Software Configuration Management environment with a focus on software development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, evaluate, and support the creation and operation of the configuration environment to ensure it meets organisational cybersecurity and risk requirements.
  • Communicate risks to the environment from exploitation of historical, current, and developing vulnerabilities.
  • Plan and coordinate the patching program in a prioritised framework to ensure the security of multiple environments and networks.
  • Test, advise, and manage the risks associated with patches and upgrades in an operational environment.
  • Assess the success of system changes and upgrades. Respond as required to maintain operational effectiveness.
  • Amenment local procedures and processes as required to reflect alterations to the IT environment.
  • Risk mitigation options where primary patching option is not possible.
Requirements:
  • Hold or be able to obtain AGSVA clearance level: NV2.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of modern cyber-security methodologies and frameworks.
  • Sound knowledge of cyber-security basics.
  • Ability to develop and implement solutions to reduce risk to networks and systems.
  • Engagement and productivity with the IT Operations team.
  • Knowledge of controls found within Defence Security Principles Framework, Information Security Manual, and the Essential Eight.
  • Analysis and critical thinking abilities.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills for participation within a small team environment.
