About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Advisor to join our team at Nous Group. As a Community Engagement Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects are delivered in a culturally appropriate and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project teams to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, reviewing deliverables for cultural nuance and sensitivity.
  • Help design stakeholder engagement strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and communities, ensuring that our approach is respectful and effective.
  • Develop and maintain networks and mobilise community engagement for projects, working closely with community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Lead and/or support consultation activities, including interviews, focus groups, workshops, and forums, to ensure that community voices are heard and valued.
  • Listen to and help manage community feedback, mitigating risks and ensuring that our responses are culturally sensitive and effective.
  • Review and contribute to proposals and project deliverables, ensuring that cultural nuance and safety are prioritised.
  • Support Nousers to build cultural competence through work on project teams and other activities, such as training and professional development.
  • Provide universal and targeted cultural competency professional development, ensuring that our team is equipped to work effectively with diverse communities.
Requirements
  • You are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, bringing a deep understanding and cultural connection to the role.
  • You are self-directed, able to work autonomously and in a self-directed and entrepreneurial fashion.
  • You are a collaborator, bringing energy and enthusiasm for working with others throughout the project design and delivery process.
  • You are a fast mover, comfortable with ambiguity and fluid structural arrangements.
  • You are a great communicator, able to communicate feedback from clients, community, and stakeholders, and provide insights.
