Job Overview

This role presents a unique opportunity to drive strategic risk and compliance outcomes across a key superannuation division.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to provide expert advice on regulatory, risk, and compliance matters.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of risk and compliance frameworks across the division.
  • Promote a strong risk and compliance culture through education and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain oversight of 1st Line risk practices, ensuring risk issues are identified and prioritized appropriately.
  • Support business decision-making by applying and maintaining the Risk Management Framework.
  • Analyze regulatory changes and provide actionable guidance for effective implementation.
  • Review member communications, disclosure documents, and marketing materials for compliance adherence.
  • Provide technical expertise to inform decision-making and regulatory interpretation.
  • Evaluate project risks to ensure alignment with compliance obligations.
  • Develop comprehensive risk reports and insights for executive leaders, boards, and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as RG146, Diploma of Superannuation Management, or equivalent qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Significant experience in operational risk and compliance, preferably within superannuation or financial services.
  • A deep understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements across super, managed investments, and IDPS.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory reforms effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership presence and influence, supporting senior leaders and teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, regulated environments.
  • Unwavering commitment to ethical standards and delivering client-focused outcomes.
  • Organizational skills, analytical mindset, and confidence navigating ambiguity and driving continuous improvement.
