Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to clients in their homes and accompany them on community outings. You will work independently, supporting clients with a range of needs, including community access and reporting.

To succeed in this position, you will require excellent communication skills, patience, and friendliness. Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an asset. Additionally, you must be able to follow instructions, work within the limitations of the role, and possess strong teamwork skills.

In order to perform your duties effectively, you will need to hold or obtain a Certificate III in Disabilities, First Aid and CPR certification, and a current Queensland driver's license with comprehensive insurance. A reliable vehicle is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide person-centered support to clients with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities
  • Accompany clients on community outings and participate in activities that promote socialization and inclusion
  • Work independently to support clients with a range of needs, including community access and reporting
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with clients, families, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and friendliness when interacting with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with individuals with ASD is an asset
  • Certificate III in Disabilities, First Aid and CPR certification
