International Trade Compliance Specialist

This role entails the facilitation of international shipments through customs and regulatory processes, necessitating close collaboration with customers, government agencies, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end customs clearance processes for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations
  • Examine customs documentation, classify goods according to customs regulations, and determine duty rates and tax liabilities
  • Resolve customs-related issues and provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and proactively resolving any clearance issues
  • Work closely with government agencies, regulatory bodies and internal teams for efficient and timely clearance
Requirements:
  • Secondary education or equivalent qualification
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in Customs
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, procedures and trade compliance
  • Proficient in customs clearance software and online customs portal
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & PC
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven expertise in planning & organizing, with a strong accuracy & attention to detail
