Ports Practice Director

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a highly skilled Ports Practice Director to drive strategic growth and technical excellence in waterfront infrastructure projects.

  • This role offers an opportunity to lead the expansion of the Ports practice across Oceania and beyond, developing and executing growth strategies aligned with regional and global priorities.
  • The successful candidate will represent Moffatt & Nichol as the principal authority for ports in the region, providing thought leadership and insights on market trends and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders is essential to align regional strategies with global business objectives.
  • The senior point of contact for key clients will be responsible for serving as Project Director on complex, high-profile engagements.
  • A strong relationship builder, the Ports Practice Director will develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Bid strategy and proposal leadership are crucial skills required for this position, driving business development and ensuring revenue and margin targets are achieved.
  • The successful candidate will guide technical direction and oversee implementation of engineering methodologies and standards.
  • Ensuring excellence in technical delivery, contract compliance, and client satisfaction is essential for success in this role.
  • Participation in major project reviews is expected, contributing strategic input and innovation.
  • Quality assurance standards must be upheld, and continuous improvement driven.
  • The Ports Practice Director will lead and grow the regional Ports team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance leadership.
  • Suporting recruitment, workforce planning, and succession strategies is also a key responsibility.
  • A collaborative, high-performance culture must be promoted, aligned with company values.
  • Engagement, career development, and retention within the team are essential.
  • The business unit's financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency, must be managed.
  • Key performance indicators must be monitored, and commercial targets delivered.

  • Optimising project resources, budgets, and working capital is also a key responsibility.
