About the role

We are seeking two experienced midwives to work in our Midwifery Group Practice team. This is a fixed-term position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension, working 34-38 hours per week.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to women with complex medical conditions throughout the pregnancy continuum.

The role requires enthusiastic and dedicated midwives to cover an on-call roster, work within the community and hospital environment, and support the Midwifery Unit Manager in service development and data collection.

Key responsibilities:

  • Covering an on-call roster to provide evidence-based continuity of care for women from antenatal to intrapartum and up to 6 weeks postnatal
  • Working within the community and hospital environment
  • Working in partnership with women and the multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager in service development and data collection

About you

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)
  • Recent experience working in antenatal, birth suite and postnatal settings
  • Experience of providing continuity of care to women (Desirable not essential)
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team

You will also have excellent communication skills, be hard working, self-directed, enthusiastic, approachable and display both initiative and a high level of motivation.
