Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Classifier to join our team.

This role involves classifying goods according to the Harmonised System (HS) of the World Customs Organization (WCO).

  • Responsibilities include research and determination of applicable import & export tariff classification codes
  • Understanding and interpreting legal notes, heading notes, and TCO's
  • Determining applicable incoterm, valuation data, and methodology
  • Cargo arrival and reporting details validation
  • Shipping & commercial documents integrity validation
  • Requesting missing/incomplete and/or additional information/documents required for custom clearance
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding cargo arrival, cargo reporting, clearance documentation
  • Providing advice to customers on import & export regulations, tariffs, and other Customs & DAFF related matters
  • Compiling and entering import declaration data
  • Preparing work instructions and other documents for in-house use

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
