Garden Specialist

As a Garden Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our parks, gardens, and landscaped areas. We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to join our team and contribute to the upkeep of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maintenance and improvement of gardens, including annuals, native & non-native plants, high profile areas, traffic facilities, and other landscaped areas in accordance with service requirements, service agreements, rosters, and programs.
  • Provide expert recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment, and improvement and implement as required.
  • Develop and deliver on-the-job skills development and training to staff.
  • Conduct risk and hazard assessments of all areas under the crew's control and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify, report, and rectify landscape deficiencies, particularly in garden & landscape area maintenance.
  • Offer assistance and advice to management, staff, customers, and the community when needed.
  • Ensure all works under your control are completed within timeframes.
  • Finalize completion of works requests as allocated.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in horticulture or a related field.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in garden maintenance.
  • Skills and experience necessary to fulfill the role, responsibilities, duties, and competency requirements of the position.
