Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management: Provide guidance and support to the Environmental Planning team, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of successful outcomes.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in monitoring and reviewing budgets, Council plans, and Departmental obligations to ensure alignment with environmental planning goals.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement strategy and policy documents to guide Council's direction for environmental protection.
- Community Engagement: Work with the Strategic Planning Department and other stakeholders to promote community awareness and participation in environmental planning policies.
- Research and Reporting: Conduct research, prepare reports, and make recommendations on environmental planning issues to inform decision-making.
- Infrastructure Planning: Provide technical support for major infrastructure projects, ensuring the preservation of environmental values.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and manage teams, supervise, train, and develop staff.
- Knowledge and Experience: Extensive experience in environmental planning, preferably in environmentally sensitive and urban fringe areas, with knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
- Interpersonal Skills: Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with external agencies, stakeholders, and community members.
