Culturally Safe Care in Remote NT Communities

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife/RN to provide high-quality treatment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote Northern Territory communities.

  • This locum-based role offers short-term placements where you will work on-site in remote clinics, delivering culturally safe care in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practitioners, nurses, and support staff.
About the Role

You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote communities.

  • Culturally safe practice is at the heart of this role, and you will be expected to work collaboratively with local healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Evidence of unrestricted registration as a registered nurse and registered midwife with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of 3 years of postgraduate experience in midwifery.
  • A minimum of 2 years of postgraduate experience as a registered nurse.
  • A minimum of 250 hours of relevant clinical experience within the past 12 months.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Current recognised Immunisation certificate.
  • Current Northern Territory Working with Children's Card (or willing to obtain).
