About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team at VMCH in Wangaratta.

As a Disability Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently by providing individualized capacity building supports and developing life skills.

You will have the opportunity to work across various programs, including group programs, one-on-one support, and community access.

The successful candidate will be required to work a range of rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and sleepovers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized capacity building supports to increase independence in domestic and administrative tasks.
  • Develop and implement life skills training programs to empower individuals to live independently.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the Disability, Community, or Healthcare sectors.
  • Certificate III Individual Support or Certificate IV Disability (or similar).
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Valid full Driver's Licence, Car Insurance, and Car Registration.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  • Basic computer and administration skills.
