Senior Technical Advisor Role

The water treatment industry is a vital sector that plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and sustainability of our drinking water. As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical support to regional conventional water treatment plants operations across the state.

This role will require daily interaction with operations teams, driving operational excellence through strong safety practices and innovative problem-solving. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the treatment process are operating at optimal levels.

The position is based in Osborne Park, with regular travel required to regional sites. You will need to have a C Class driver's license and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering field and considerable experience in conventional water treatment process design, operations, or troubleshooting. They will also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as high-level analytical and conceptual skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead remote and site-based support for operations of water treatment facilities including technical, scientific, or engineering investigations as well as design, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide specialist advice on design standards and operational requirements for new treatment plants.
  • Contribute to the development of treatment operations, processes, and technology to enhance operational outcomes.
  • Perform routine review of plant performance against performance criteria.
  • Manage team assets (laboratory equipment, instruments, corporate vehicles), including QAP testing and vehicle safety checks.

What We're Looking For
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering field.
  • Considerable experience in conventional water treatment process design, operations, or troubleshooting.
  • A C Class driver's license and a willingness to travel regularly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills.
