About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Building and Construction Services team to work on projects across the Defence Sector based in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write and review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and minor works
  • Read, interpret, and communicate plans effectively
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand the requirements
  • Conduct general building works, framing, second fix, and hanging doors
  • Lay flooring, repair roofing, or install plasterboard
  • Install fixtures and hardware such as door handles, locks, and door closers
  • Inspect sites and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with McMahon Services safety, quality, and business processes
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Carpenter on commercial projects
  • Certificate III in Carpentry
  • General knowledge of all building and construction site works
  • An ability to take direction and work unsupervised as a team player
  • Construction White Card and current Driver's Licence
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • To be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for Work assessment
  • Your own standard tools – specialty tools provided by the company
  • To obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
  • An ability to travel on occasions within South Australia to our regional construction sites. Additional LAFHA (living away from home allowance) would be provided
Desirable Qualifications
  • First and Second Fix carpentry experience with a focus on doors and door hardware
  • SCEC knowledge
  • EWP Licence
  • Working at heights
