YOUR ROLE
The Maritime Logistics Coordinator is tasked with managing the completion of customs documentation as required by regulatory authorities. This position serves as a vital link between international processing teams, importers, shipping firms, and air transport services.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate entry of all shipping information into the company's tracking platform, which is essential for the timely dispatch of goods according to client specifications. You will oversee customer deliveries to ensure they align with expectations, providing efficient and reliable service.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
In detail, your duties will encompass:
- Facilitating customs entry preparation among the international processing team, clients, internal departments, shipping lines, co-managers, and air carriers.
- Ensuring the proper storage of shipping documents in the designated online repository.
- Coordinating the dispatch of client shipments in accordance with customer specifications for ocean freight.
- Guaranteeing that the release of goods adheres to local Customs and Quarantine regulations.
- Maintaining timely and precise communication with clients regarding the status of shipments and delivery timelines.
- Inputting delivery and Proof of Delivery (POD) information into the logistics management system.
- Identifying opportunities for process enhancements to boost productivity and efficiency within the team.
- Collaborating with the Warehouse Manager regarding regulatory directions and inspections.
WHAT ARE WE SEEKING?
The ideal candidate will possess experience in a similar capacity within a logistics environment, along with:
- The ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety protocols, operational guidelines, and procedural manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measure, as well as the ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Familiarity with Dangerous Goods Regulations and transportation requirements.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
In addition to providing proof of work eligibility and suitable professional references, selected candidates will be required to undergo a medical evaluation and background check.
