The role of Commercialisation Specialist focuses on driving the development and support of commercialisation opportunities from early-stage identification through to pre-seed stage and beyond. This involves shaping, mentoring, and positioning these initiatives for investment and long-term success while ensuring effective investment governance and strategic advice.
We seek an experienced professional who thrives in complex environments, has a passion for innovation and commercialisation, and is motivated by helping researchers and founders translate ideas into impactful ventures.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and support commercialisation opportunities across the pipeline
- Shape, mentor, and position initiatives for investment and long-term success
- Ensure effective investment governance and provide strategic investment advice
- Postgraduate degree in science, technology, and/or business with experience in commercialising university research
- Experience in managing and curating a technology pipeline with stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen and deal structuring experience
- Start-up creation or board experience to guide and assist founders and their early-stage technology companies
This role requires a deep understanding of the commercialisation process, combined with strong analytical and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to balance technical expertise with commercial awareness, driving successful outcomes for RMIT's commercialisation initiatives.
