Eye Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Orthoptist to join our dynamic team at the Women's and Children's Health Network.
As an Eye Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ophthalmic care to children in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in paediatric ophthalmology will be invaluable in investigating and managing complex conditions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young patients.

About the Opportunity
- You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing treatment plans, and communicating effectively with patients and families.
- Contributing to the effective and efficient operation of our Ophthalmology outpatient clinics, you will be an integral part of our team's efforts to provide comprehensive care to children with visual impairments.
About You
- To succeed in this role, you will require relevant degree or Master's qualification in Orthoptics, registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB), and eligibility for membership of Orthoptics Australia (OA).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in paediatric ophthalmology is essential, along with a strong understanding of strabismus, amblyopia, ocular motility, refractive error, and assessment of children with visual impairments.
- Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and staff at all levels.
What We Offer
- Salary package: $45.11-$52.26 per hour + 25% casual loading, plus benefits such as access to Fitness Passport, free public transport, generous leave provisions, and professional development opportunities.
