Job OverviewThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing support services to male victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, including responding to referrals, utilizing a person-centred approach to build trust and engagement in the program, making initial contact within required timeframes, gathering information, and informing individuals of the program.
You will use information gathered to triage and allocate referrals to LSS Caseworkers for further support, ensuring services are tailored to each individual's needs and level of risk.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by domestic and family violence while working within a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to all referrals and utilize a person-centred approach to build trust and engagement in the program
- Making initial contact within required timeframes and gathering information
- Informing individuals of the program and using information gathered to triage and allocate referrals to LSS Caseworkers
- Ensuring services are tailored to each individual's needs and level of risk
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A commitment to work within the Mission, Vision and Values of CatholicCare
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of the cycle of domestic and family violence and the issues of power and control that underpin that cycle
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently in triaging and allocating individuals in accordance with program guidelines
- A working knowledge of the legislation, policies, and standards relevant to child protection, and child safe organisations
- Experience working with, or a demonstrated knowledge of cultural competence principles, relevant to engaging clients from diverse backgrounds, including First Nation people and those from a CALD background
- Ability to maintain timely, accurate and relevant client records for reporting and information sharing
- Contribute to continuous learning and relationships through the co-ordination of meetings and other information sharing activities
